Otodus obliquus lived from the Paleocene to the Eocene Epochs, roughly 66–45 million years ago.

It was one of the earliest mackerel sharks and a relative of the Megalodon shark.

Otodus obliquus was a large macro-predator shark that may have reached lengths of 26–30 ft.

Otodus obliquus teeth are most commonly found in Morocco, particularly in the phosphate mines of the Atlas Mountains.
